Itinerary: A Tippler`s Tour
Untitled Document
You’ll need to know what you’re drinking, so take a deep breath and take a tour of the Old Jameson Distillery in Dublin.

Head south to Carlow Town and get your lips wet at the Carlow Brewing Company, a microbrew sensation. Make the short trip down the road to Kilkenny and head straight for the Smithwick Brewery; ask nicely and you just might get in. If not, don’t despair. Sample the local ale and atmosphere in O’Riada’s and hightail it southward to Midleton in County Cork, Irish whiskey’s HQ. In Cork city itself, turn a blind eye to the architectural eyesore that is the Beamish & Crawford Brewery and discover that there is a stout to rival Arthur Guinness’ personal best.
On the long journey northward, make a pit stop at the Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, where you can sample a snifter of the world-famous whiskey, and a detour to the fabulous Locke’s Distillery in County Westmeath. The final stop on this epic journey is at Ireland’s northeastern tip, in the small town of Bushmills, County Antrim. After a visit to the superb Bushmills Distillery, collapse finally at the Bushmills Inn for a well-deserved rest.
