Websites concerned with Laos are few, and generally of rather low quality. Most are commercial sites that are selling hotel rooms or tours, and contain very little hard information about the country. Here are the best we've found this time around:
Lao Embassy in Bangkok - The best online source for information on visa options.
LaoPDR.com - A commercial site with an assortment of travel information, including on accommodation and nightlife.
Laos-Travel.net - One of the better commercial sites, with information on hotels, tours and general travel.
Travel.LaoPDR.com - For independent travellers, this is the meatiest site in terms of ground-researched travel information, although it's out of date.
Vientiane Times - Website of the country's only English-language newspaper, and operated by the government. In addition to daily news stories about Laos, this is the only place online to get accurate exchange rates for the Lao kip.
