THREE TO FOUR WEEKS
‘I have a three-week holiday – how can I see the best Venezuela has to offer?’ This frequently asked question comes mostly from travelers with limited time and a mid-range budget. It’s easy to do if you’re happy to invest in local flights and organized tours, and you can arrange tours with local operators by Internet in advance.

You arrive at Caracas; stay a day or two to see the museums, then fly to Los Roques, a lovely coral archipelago in the Caribbean, for two or three days.
Mérida is the next stop, by air or a full-night bus ride from Caracas. This adventure sports region offers every kind of activity – rafting, paragliding, trekking and mountain biking – so allow a few days if you’re ready for some action. Also consider a four-day wildlife-safari tour to Los Llanos, organized from Mérida.
Next stop is Ciudad Bolívar, where your priority is a three-day tour to the famous Angel Falls. Back in town, take a four-day tour to the Gran Sabana, an amazing rolling savanna dotted with table mountains and waterfalls. If you have an extra week to spare, consider a fantastic trip to the top of Roraima.
It’s then time to relax on some of Venezuela’s fabulous beaches, like the lively and trendy Playa El Agua on Isla de Margarita. Allow a few days on the beach before flying back to Caracas for some last-minute shopping and the flight home.
