The Cambodian tragedy in words
In stark contrast with the glories of the Angkor empire is the black void into which the country was plunged in the 1970s. A brutal civil war raged for five years and propelled the Khmer Rouge to power. This regime turned the clocks to Year Zero in what was to become one of the most radical and bloody revolutions the world has seen. Read your way through these tumultuous events to learn more about how it all happened.
