TWO WEEKS / ZAGREB TO DUBROVNIK
From major cities to natural wonders, this 750km itinerary brings you all that makes Croatia Croatian. You’ll experience the central European flavour of the interior and the Latin-inspired coast.

Two-tiered Zagreb is your starting point, with its simmering nightlife, fine restaurants and choice museums divided between the medieval Upper Town and Austrian-influenced Lower Town.
From Zagreb, head north to the stunning baroque city of Varaždin. This one-time capital of Croatia retains a strong sense of its glory. Spend a night, then head south to World Heritage site Plitvice Lakes National Park, a watery wonderland of lakes and waterfalls. After a day soaking up the spray move on to historic Zadar. Take a day trip to the island of Pag for its unique culture and then move on to Šibenik, home of the finest cathedral in Croatia, the Cathedral of St James. Don’t miss out on a swim under the falls at Krka National Park. Next is a stroll through lovely Trogir and then a meander around the Roman ruins of Solin (Salona). By then you’ll be ready for Diocletian’s Palace in Split. This exuberant city on the sea makes a fascinating contrast to busy Zagreb. Finish by taking the coastal road down to Dubrovnik – its pride and cultural identity are still intact from centuries as an independent city-state.
