Habana isn’t just a city; it’s a chameleon, a conundrum, a cultural extravaganza. To see all the main sights in a week is like trying to squeeze the complete works of Shakespeare into just one act. For a brief initiation stick aside a fortnight; to delve deeper count on a month.
TWO WEEKS TO ONE MONTH / HABANA
With two weeks and a car you can see a lot of Cuba, but using public transport can give you a good (sometimes better!) taste too. With two months, you can travel the breadth in depth.

Mandatory museums include the Cuban collection of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes; the Museo de la Revolución; the Museo Fortificaciones y Armas; the inspiring (despite so much taxidermy) Museo Hemingway and the fascinating Museo de Fundación de Naturaleza y El Hombre.
After museum fatigue sets in, head to the azure waters and white sands of Playas del Este, trot around verdant Parque Lenin on horseback or re-energize with some flower power at the Jardín Botánico Nacional.
When the moon goes up, Habana gets down. Music lovers will enjoy Jazz Club La Zorra y El Cuervo; the Teatro Amadeo Roldán , seat of the national symphony; the Casa de la Trova; or just hanging out on the Malecón. For salsa, it’s the Casa de la Música in Centro Habana or Miramar; there are discos or check out the legendary rumbas hosted in Callejón de Hamel. Of course, fabulousness happens nightly at the world-famous Tropicana Nightclub.
