He lives a few blocks away, but his family owns a cane field behind my neighbourhood. The cane are harvest once in a year. After it's being harvested, the remaining plants have to be burnt before the farmers could plant the new plants. Most affordable housing are small houses, built from what used to be a farming field. Some field still existing between those houses, like this chili field that is being harvest by Lastri. She is one of the locals that lives behind my neighbourhood and still owns her family field.     Children of the village Kampung Air which is next to the Sunda Kelapa port, hang out on the bridge. They have no open spaces to play in their village, but the open sea is the only playground. by: sundakelapa Views[543] Fishing in your own yard is a common thing if you happen to live next to the sea. In this village next to the Sunda Kelapa port, it's called Kampung Air or literally sea village. Some of the houses are above the sea water. It's even possible to fish up from your own porch here. Convenient probably to some, but hygienic factor does not always the main part in this village. Harsh environment conditions has become a day to day common thing. They working hours does not even better either. Some of them even started earlier than the Sunrise and the job does not even complete after the Sunset.
