    Crete, Greece by: livefasttravel Views[198] Vikos Gorge is in the Guiness Book of Records as the deepest gorge in the world with a drop of 1000m at its deepest point. We visited this place and was in absolute awe, it was so hard to capture a shot that showed the scale. by: jamesgrant Views[603] Polylimnio Waterfalls are in a deep cool gorge in Southern Greece. Its more like an Amazonian world in there with fresh waters channelling down. It had been used as many things including a prison at one point.     A 2 and a half hour drive from our base camp driving over high mountain passes saw us arriving at Gythio. We visited solely to capture this shipwreck called The residents of Gennadi don’t seem to worry too much about the state of things, and won’t pass up an opportunity to get together. In true laid-back Greek style, they held their annual fishing competition one evening on the beach in front of the town. The area had suffered a notable decrease of investment in recent years, leaving these monoliths towering over the fields that probably would have been home to the once growing community of British expatriate retirees. by: robindhevans Views[439] In 2009 I spent three months living in Gennadi, working as a watersports instructor in front of three hotels at nearby Kiotari Bay in the south of Rhodes, Greece. It was quiet in Kiotari. Many of the hotel sun chairs were left empty; a reflection of the slow start to the holiday season as a result of the poor economic climate. Rhodes island is dominated by the tourism industry, with the endless days of sun and consistent wind ordinarily drawing sunbakers and watersport enthusiasts from all over Europe.
