007: Bond in Burma

Fri, 14 Dec 2007 | By skirmish | Views [1127]

Yangon is not your everyday city. A place where $900 a night hotels, desolate colonial architecture and extreme poverty come together in an unusual form of mismatched harmony. A friend once described it to me as a place he’d love to come and explore ... Read more >

What we can do for Burma - sent to BBC World

As I roamed about the lanes of the makeshift 'Kumbh City' searching for the Sadhavi (Female Sadhu) camps someone told us about, I bumped into her. Long matted hair tied up in a bun, a cigarette in hand, she spoke of living life without materialistic burdens. Here she proudly poses for my camera as a lady vendor selling amulets looks on. She hailed from Guwahti in eastern India.
