I Made It!

Sun, 17 Feb 2008 | By walkamile | Views [570]

Finally got here at Lincoln University safe & sound.  The plane trips were long but worth it!  Some of the vegetation here is unusual.  There are green plants everywhere!  It reminds me of the pacific northwest a bit.  Will post pictures soon.

Sun, 17 Feb 2008 | By tomfremlin | Views [548]

From Ahipara we crossed back to the Bay of Islands to Kerikeri, where we had arranged to spend weekend with one of Tom's old teachers. Was great being in a family environment again, though it did make me feel the most homesick since I've been here...... Read more >

The Enchanted Would (Farm # 4)

Tue, 12 Feb 2008 | By elawlor | Views [780]

I've been road tripping in a rental car for several days now.  The freedom and flexibility is nice.  From Wellington, I drove north and walked the Tongariro Crossing, a one-day hike through volcanic mountains.  There were pretty pools and geothermal ... Read more >

Kidnapped by Brazilians

Mon, 11 Feb 2008 | By thecobb | Views [2065] | Comments [1]

Well, I learned a lesson the other morning.  Don't force things to happen.  I tried to force an apple-picking job to happen even though it really isn't the season yet.  I ended up weeding pumpkins 20 kms away from Hastings!  Oh, and the pay-rate wasn't ... Read more >
