Chiang Mai is a large city with a lot of attractions for both tourist and locals. There is far too much to do in one day, but if you plan it right, you can hit a bunch of sites in small areas of the city. We got up today with our goal to go to the west ... Read more >

North for the Holidays

We had no delusion that the tiki hut would be sound proof, but we could never have predicted the cacophony of sounds we would here throughout the night.  Curiously, some guy asked us the day before if we were able to sleep the night in a hut, and ... Read more >

Adventure is Out There... Look Up!

Mon, 23 Dec 2013 | By mitann | Views [1402]

It was so nice to sleep in a good large bed with extremely comfortable blankets that actually had some weight to them. We got up at a normal time, made our way down to the common breakfast area and enjoyed some sweet, very small, bananas, toast and coffee.... Read more >

The mayor of Auckland is so proud of the place that he arranged to build the tallest building in the southern hemisphere right in the centre of town. The building looks like a giant syringe and has become a bit of an icon. Not only is it the tallest building, it also has the the world's most expensive elevator ride! We couldn't miss the opportunity to get burned. Here's the view. Baa humbug.: by paul_byrom, Views[414]
