I met someone

Tue, 4 Jan 2011 | By diddidly98 | Views [366]

I met someone. No, not SOMEONE as in a boy someone. I met someone in my life who has encouraged me to write. She inspired me to create this travel journal. I figured WHY NOT?!? See, I'm addicted. No, not to drugs or alcohol or boys. I'm addicted ... Read more >

Marvelling at the Northern Lights

Fri, 10 Dec 2010 | By stevegoodyear | Views [459]

It had been cloudy for most of my trip; and the worry here was that the clouds would block the Northern Lights, and I would go home without seeing them and without capturing a picture of them. On my second last night, the clouds ... Read more >

Wandering Sights of Yellowknife

Wed, 8 Dec 2010 | By stevegoodyear | Views [444]

For such a bleak place, or so one would expect in an arctic town in winter, it is actually quite visual with vibrant colours and spirit. The houseboats lining the lake offer a rainbow of colour and character on the horizon; the decorations ... Read more >

Welcome to Yellowknife

Mon, 6 Dec 2010 | By stevegoodyear | Views [315]

It was an ironic twist: I picked a trip to Yellowknife over relaxing in the sun in Mexico because I felt like a few days to myself rather than amongst a bunch of party-going tourists; yet the two proved to be very welcoming, friendly, ... Read more >

When we arrive in our village, for the duration of our stay, our days are filled with exchanges and greetings. In this photo we are walking back to our place from my great-aunt's house, who is on the left. On the right my aunt holds an empty plate wrapped in cloth. It would have been filled with food - anything from fruits or cakes, to rice or curries. As is the custom, we brought it to my great-aunt's house as a gift to her.: by nataliarg, Views[156]
