As Peter Cullen (cattle and sheep farmer) relaxes in his favourite chair he tells me what life was like when he was a ‘young fella’. “It was a three mile walk to school which was done in their bare feet from April through to Sept. In them days school bags were made out of a sack with a string to carry it across your shoulder. Many kids didn’t stay in school for very long, most children coming from a farming community would leave at the age of 13 or 14 to start farming.”: by craigd999, Views[998] As Peter Cullen (cattle and sheep farmer) relaxes in his favourite chair he tells me what life was like when he was a ‘young fella’. “It was a three mile walk to school which was done in their bare feet from April through to Sept.
