Selling music to the Dark.
Seeking shelter from Pokhara's daytime heat, an enclosed mall leads me off the main street. Here, at the end sat a tiny, traditional music shop, complete with a pipe smoking owner and skipping discman. Dusty, handcrafted instruments hung for sale on the walls. An unfinished example of what was to become an instrument lay next him. With no intention to buy, I smile and leave feeling somewhat saddened by his visual surroundings. A long tunnel where he sat watching and waiting for someone to come in and purchase something. I imagined what it must have been like when business boomed for him in his busy years.
