         		 The owner takes a break from serving drinks to help her young daughter with her homework.          		 This is one of the well-known regulars we met on both occasions we visited. Rarely without a smile on his face, I caught this moment where he dropped the smile and seemed to be in a moment of deep thought, what it was exactly we will never know.          		 Pub life in Ireland is similar to wherever you are in the world, the main reason you are there is for a pint, or whatever your tipple. Although, you will soon notice that traditional Irish pubs come with something a little more special than just a tasty drink. Connie Doolan's is a small pub in the port town of Cobh on the southern shores of Ireland, the name itself couldn’t possibly be more Irish. After the first hour it was as if we were long time regulars, on the 2nd visit the night after, it was like a home away from home. This is what makes Irish pub life, the hospitality, the stories, the banter and the characters, or as the Irish say
         		 Haul away! The ropes gave us control of the behemoth that is a tall ship. This rope remains strong despite some fraying during the journey, much like the poor crew.     Catching 40 winks. This crew member learned quickly to be an oppurtunistic sleeper. Watches rotated in 4 hour cycles on board, meaning that you worked from (for example) 4-8 o'clock each morning and afternoon. Trying to sleep in the intervening hours, with the ship pitching and rolling, was almost an artform. So every nap counted.: by defoeand, Views[3629]
         		 Make ready for to go. The ship's bosun poses beside the main bell on the foredeck as we leave A Coruna.
