         		 Peruvian hot showers, one of the most lethal devices in the world. The first time I used one, my head touched the nozzle. I then recieved a huge electric shock and bright flashing for about 3 seconds. It was quite a thrill. : by tk-tempany, Views[749]
     
    On our way back to Lima along the barren coast of Peru. The little shanty homes along this stretch were of stark contrast to the homes we saw a few days later on California's Highway 1.: by tk-tempany, Views[762]

         		 We eventually got going again. I was horrified when we came over this pass and realised we would be descending down this road. To think the steering had just snapped and then been repaired with some rusty bolts concerned me a little. : by tk-tempany, Views[654]

    My second stop was a shower. The hot water from this shower came directly out of the mountain. It was bliss and I sat in here for atleast 4 hours soaking my aching muscles.: by tk-tempany, Views[377]
         		 My first stop once reaching the village was a restaurant. This was the most delicious tough meat and soggy pasta I have ever eaten.: by tk-tempany, Views[413]

    I was walking through a valley that had recieved some heavy rain the night before. I stepped into this puddle, thinking it was only a few inches deep, and instantly sunk all the way up to my chest. It was extremely frightening as I was completely stuck.          		 The first person I had seen or spoken to in 6 days was this farmer in a secluded valley. I think we freaked each other out a little bit, so I gave him a muesli bar in exchange for a photo, and we both happily parted ways. : by tk-tempany, Views[370]

         		 Another magnificent camping spot. The solitude of the trek was incredible. Although I covered about 15kms a day, I didn't see or speak to another person for the first 6 days.          		 This is my camping spot on the second night. The most beautiful peak in the world, Alpamayo, is hiding behind the clouds in the centre of the picture. All night I could hear chunks of the glacier crashing down to the valley floor. : by tk-tempany, Views[431]
         		 The trek was just over 100km, and went over 5 passes of more than 4500m. Each day I walked through valleys and then over passes to valleys on the other side. It was brutally strenuous because of the altitude, but magnificent. : by tk-tempany, Views[357]
