    Rooftops of the main square in Old Town. If you raise your gaze from the cobblestones, you might just find yourself feeling more high-spirited. : by kateness, Views[318]
         		 Not even a tourist would most likely find the Old Town's cobblestones quite as interesting. A child stops to examine the shapes in the street as those older and more experienced rush on past. A woman appears to stop and watch--the mother? A bystander?          		 During noisy market day, when I was overwhelmed by the variety of colors, smells and sounds of everything there , wife of one of bird sellers was playing with child, seemed like she didn’t hear all the buzz around her.: by kasiapawluczuk, Views[455]
         		 In Sapa, there were many local women selling their crafts. They were so determined to convince me to buy something that they surrounded me.          		 We were on our tiring trekking in the mountains around Sapa, so dirty and sweaty with crowd of others tourists with us when we met them. The group of half-naked children didn’t care about their nudity.          		 During one of ours trips near Sapa, we had a break in a small wooden house.. All tourists were very noisy, but the “landlady” sat quietly with dignity, patiently waiting for our leaving.: by kasiapawluczuk, Views[466]

         		 The reflection of The Officer Cadets School in the frozen pond (located in the eastern section of the park) which survived the Second World War. It is said to be a real pearl since only a few buildings in Warsaw survived the war with no severe damage. Thus this building has been intriguing to me for as long as I can remember.          		 Here I captured a random woman looking at the frozen pond in The Royal Łazienki Park, this photograph reflects the feeling of nostalgia that accompanied me on the visit. I spent many hours in this park as a child and most of my earliest memories are from there. : by k_kruk, Views[513]

    Lifting helicopter from the arranged landing zone next to the hospital. Many hospitals don't have designed landing places, they have designated spots that are described in the landing book. If the hospital doesn't have this space team cannot conduct transport operation they need to conduct rescue operation in which the pilot is picking the landing spot. Sometimes it's causing coffusion, because there are cases when people cannot be transported from hospital to hospital, just because there is not designated landing space and the operation was classify as transport not the rescue.          		 HEMS teams provide fast rescue support and transport patience from hospital to hospital. Unfortunately many times the system is abused and hospitals call for transport assistance to patience that don't require fast transport. They do this just to cut cost. Due to complicated system of subsidiary helicopter transport is cheaper for hospital that the ambulance one. : by rescue_12, Views[605]
         		 Flying rescue helicopter is very similar to flying military one. Many times you are landing in the spots that are new for you and are not market. You have to look for power line, trees and analyse shape of the ground where you land. At the moment most of rescue pilot are ex-military, there is no school for civil pilots preparing them for requirements of the job, but there are plans to prepare training for pilots interested to do this kind of job. : by rescue_12, Views[466]
         		 Warsaw, Poland: HEMS - Helicopter Emergency Medical Service team is preparing for take off. This time is not rescue mission, just transport. Next to the pilot is sitting paramedic, who is also filling the role of navigator. He is the last to go in to the machine and the first to leave to guide the safe landing in not marking land spots. : by rescue_12, Views[813]

    Within Polish nationalism rests strong Catholic belief, here shown by the crucifix held at the end of a long Polish flag. The symbol on the neighbouring flag stands for ‘Powstanie Warszawskie’ or ‘Warsaw Uprising’. In 1944 the citizens of Warsaw rose up to fight against their Nazi occupiers and so this symbol represents the pride Poland has for keeping their nation independent.: by sashastowe, Views[1119]
         		 A sea of red and white, Poland's national colours, in a march against a perceived decrease in independence within the EU after Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, said he would give more powers to the EU in light of the Eurozone crisis. As with many nationalist movements, violence often occurs with the presence of the political right wing.     This pictures was taken in Auschwitz-Birkenau. This place was so incredibly vast, that you got a bit dizzy to think that so many people were murdered on the grounds. The tracks are so incredibly symbolic. The tracks gave the Nazi's access to murder so many innocent people. It led them to a road to nowhere. Photography-wise, I like this photo because o fthe depth of field. The focus is mostly on the tracks and you don't really know where thew tracks go. The shadows in the tracks are dark which represents the unknown. I love that the sky is gray for it really sets the mood for the photo and makes it very grim.: by nickp, Views[950]
         		 This photo will always hold a place in my heart. It was taken down a hallway in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp. They had several photos of some of the people killed during the genocide.
