    Small Sloth. This is my favorite animal in the Rain Forest. It always moves very gentle and has a very human expression. But don't think they are unprotected. With its claws of the size of a human finger, a fast hit can do lots of damage. Some ex-hunters on the park, where I photographed this beautiful animal, said that the Sloths has some impressive attitudes when it is hunted. The ex-hunters said that just before the final hit, the slots start to scream, and this screams sound like a baby crying! One of the guys that told me this story said, that he was about to kill a sloth with a baby. The sloth looked into his face and took the baby on his arm and offered it to the hunter. The message was clear to the hunter.
         		 Ovenbird - The Rufous Hornero. These interesting birds are known for building their nests out of mud! They are excellent builders. They hunt small insects on the ground. This is what this one was doing when I took the picture. On the sand dunes it’s easy to find unprotected food. The Ovenbird - The Rufous Hornero.          		 In the Itaúnas village there is only one school where local kids are educated. They live in a very simple reality and most kids only go to school to get the lunch that is served at noon. These kids are confronted with a very difficult reality. They have to face a future on a place with only few job opportunities and experience political conflicts between the local population and the protected area. Our job in this school was to sensitize the kids. We showed them that the region, they live in, has to be protected and can be explored in a non-destructive way by taking advantage of its beautiful geography and biodiversity, e.g. as a touristic attraction. We always show the kids that there are still interesting things to protect and to admire in the park that they live in.          		 Itaúnas is a small nature park in Brazil with fascinating landscapes and wildlife. The history of the region is characterized by interest conflicts between the local population, resource exploiting companies and the nature protection organization. In the Itaúnas nature park there are local people that live from extracting resources from the land, like this man called

We took 5 days to finally being able to locate and photograph this alligator baby.
