         		 The community revolves around the lake and almost all travel is done via boat, with the waterways becoming narrower and narrower into the dry season. This lady is on her way back from the market with her groceries, heading home to cook and feed her family.: by katpayne, Views[230]
         		 While their older family members are busy with their daily chores, these three boys enjoy their freedom and entertain themselves with a good old fashioned game of ‘It’. Although all the people in the village of Kompong Phhluk live with only the most basic amenities, the overpowering sense when I visited there was how happy they were.          		 Visiting the village of Kompong Phhluk just outside of Siem Reap, Cambodia was like stepping back in time. Situated on the flood plains of the Tonle Sap lake, the world around these homes undergoes dramatic transformation from dry to wet season. In the dry season, homes tower some 10 meters high on their tall wooden stilts, yet in the wet season, water laps at their doors. Fishing and the creation of fish paste, which is used so regularly in South East Asian cuisine, is the community’s main source of income. Everyone has a role to play in this process, and in this image a girl is chopping up the fish, separating the good and the bad before it is pounded together forming the infamous paste. : by katpayne, Views[348]
     
    Sometime she talks like a literate and wise person and her amiable and funny personality make her easily build a lot of 'families' and leave unforgettable memories to people.          		 This is the main street of Chong Kneas village at the edge of the Tonle Sap Lake, thirty minutes from Siem Reap. During the rainy season, Chong Kneas is a floating village, full of life and tourists navigating through in barks. The water reaches a few meters, hence the houses built high above the ground.          		 Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Phnom Penh. In the heart of the vibrant city stands the most stark reminder and memorial to Cambodia's brutal past. It is a symbol of the nations desire to never forget those who suffered under the Khmer Rouge regime. In this photograph I tried to capture the emotional impact of the thousands of pictures of those killed at the former high school. It stands to this day as the most intensely emotional place I have ever visited.: by tim8836, Views[287]
     
    This child monk was an incredible character. He told me he lived in Siem Reap and came to the Angkor temples everyday. He seemed much too serious for his age but showed no sign of animosity to the fact. He spoke much better English than i spoke Khmer, so I was able to ask him to help me compose the photograph among the busy temple. He seemed to like the final result.: by tim8836, Views[381]
