    With hundreds of thousands protesting, you can somehow forget the rumblings of a hungry stomach. However, savvy businessmen fill the Square with the smells of fresh popcorn, spicy foul and frying falafel. Families and friends huddle together eating and drinking. The conversation is one of hope.     Hawksbill Turtle: I was lucky enough to have this encounter during the summer holiday (2012) on the corner of Jackson Reef in the Straits of Tiran, Egypt. An example of the biodiversity, colour and beauty of coral reefs all over the world. Which sadly are under threat and the amount of time that we will have them looking like this may be limited. This beautiful hawksbill was completely at ease with getting as close as I liked and even moved toward where I was.          		 Sunrise over the Red Sea: Sometimes it is worth getting up that little bit earlier.. This was taken in Dahab, Egypt as the sun rose over Saudi Arabian soil. This is one of my favourite places that I have been to. A truly peaceful and calming place.          		 Mount Moses: As you descend from the summit of Mount Moses you reach a cluster of buildings. The simplicity of the place, the silence, the clarity, is all truly peaceful. It is easy to see why this a place of faith and spirituality, everything about the place allows you to see past what is directly in front of you.          		 Sunrise at the Top: 7km up, after 4 hours of walking and you reach the summit of Mt Sinai (Mt Moses) and the tranquility bursts out over the horizon at 4 30am. The feeling of reward for a bit of effort floods your body as the first warmth hits your face. The air is still and there is no sound, you feel yourself sink into calmness and just watch the slowly climbing sun creep over and cast light over the landscape at your feet.     Stony corals off the south western edge of the Gordon Reef. Coral reefs are particularly sensitive to man-made changes to their environment. Of particular concern to the Gordon Reef is the construction of the proposed Saudi-Egypt causeway which would release more sediment and pollutants into the Tiran Straits.     After her daughter returns from school, Aya enjoys one of her greatest pleasures, an afternoon stroll in the desert. For her and her child, these simple moments are golden as both suffer from chronic heart conditions. Siwa, known for it’s mystical powers, healing springs and quality dates has attracted travellers and merchants for thousands of years.
