         		 I met a friend who had been living in India for a while before I arrived. Over a conversation on a bus ride, we talked about how he was used to being the majority at home and in India, experienced being a minority and always looked at for the first time.          		 In Kerala, I had a bit of a disagreement with someone I was traveling with. He thought it would be fun to tell a mutual friend that I was making stereotypical jokes about Central Americans, and I was upset because I personally don't joke about racial stereotypes.          		 I visited Auroville, an experimental township near Puducherry. I was standing near some trees, and while most people were busy taking photos with the famous dome, I stopped for these flowers in a bowl of water and attempted to decipher what the sign said.
