UNITED KINGDOM | Sun, 26 Apr 2015 | By emiliepb | Views [19]

Since arriving in Bangkok the main thing we've done is sleep. Jet lag has hit us kinda bad, slept through most of Day 2. Taxi from the airport cost us B500 (£10) for a 40min ride into the heart of the city- from research this seems to be the ... Read more >

The Dog Days of Bangkok

THAILAND | Thu, 9 Apr 2015 | By wtarmstrong | Views [103] | Comments [2]

I don’t have a lot of insightful things say about Bangkok. Much like Singapore, it wasn’t a sightseeing stop. After weeks spent in Cambodia and Laos and with weeks in Sri Lanka on the immediate horizon, Bangkok was more of a catch your breath ... Read more >

It ends where it all began.

THAILAND | Tue, 31 Mar 2015 | By homeless_harry | Views [109]

A holiday isn't really over until you are back on home soil, but Bangkok is as close to home as it gets, geographically and sentimentally. It is very familiar territory and a great place to unwind and transition back into the Broome heat of my real home ... Read more >

It's All Happening Here - Bangkok

THAILAND | Sun, 15 Feb 2015 | By katiestoner | Views [108]

I know you've all been waiting with baited breath for my first "blog" post ;) Well, here I am, reluctantly pulling up a chair to the first real computer I've had access to since I left my cold, little city of Ithaca, NY nearly a month ago. I'm writing ... Read more >

Julia vs. the animal kingdom; 1-1 draw.

THAILAND | Sun, 8 Feb 2015 | By homeless_harry | Views [140]

If this holiday goes as quickly as what the last five days did, I will be home a week ago. Sure, most of what Julia and I did in Bangkok revolved around the consumption of alcohol, but as soon as we divided up the vast tracks of land that constituted ... Read more >

Nothing to do in the Bangkok zoo.

THAILAND | Mon, 19 Jan 2015 | By homeless_harry | Views [151]

Khao San Road is hedonisms alternative to a float tank. Instead of sensory deprivation, this place is sensory saturation. There are so many distractions here that any well-conceived plans I may have had for this journal are well and truly drowned in ... Read more >

Thailand - Bangkok, Ayutthaya and Sukhothai

THAILAND | Fri, 24 Oct 2014 | By megandrob | Views [57]

After an uneventful flight and taxi ride we arrived in Bangkok. Our hostel was a bit grubby but the location was excellent and we have no real complaints. We were only 30 seconds from Khao San Road so we wandered onto the strip to see what was happening.... Read more >

Thailand - Day 4-1

THAILAND | Sat, 4 Oct 2014 | By changstein | Views [88]

Ringside at a Muay Thai fight.  This is an experience you should not miss when visiting Bangkok.  The atmosphere of the building, including the traditional rituals before every fight, to the vaguely Arabic sounding music during the matches, ... Read more >

Thailand - Day 4

THAILAND | Sat, 4 Oct 2014 | By changstein | Views [75]

Chatuchak weekend market.  Its big. Really big.  You can find anything and everything here, but shops seem to be reluctant to negotiate much on prices.  Also, there is surprisingly good food that can be found here.  Don'to ... Read more >

Thailand - Day 3-2

Delicious Mexican food at Charley Browns on Suk Soi 11.  The suspiciously strong margarita pitchers help too.  What? It's only 3:30?  This may be a problem... Good thing we don't need to drive anywhere...or walk.

Not much going on today, took the train to the MBK centre, which is a 7 story mall filled with every type of vendor possible. Here you can find genuine high-end fashion and electronics right next to fake knock-offs.
