![Nestled inside Acadia National Park,this place they gather is called Lakewood.
This collection of images is part of an ongoing project of mine.However, the selected images are those which strongly explore the concept that I am seeking. I photograph people,places and experiences that are captured as truest to the nature of that environment. This project examines a place called Lakewood ,within Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island in Maine,USA. Lakewood is a place where people go to admire the beauty and tranquility of the natural world.This group of people in particular comprises of national as well as international youths studying at a local college. There they all attend and look to become part of the bigger world, thru international change in human and environmental rights and activism. I sought to capture not only the beauty of their own,chosen, routine and experience of this place, but also provoke an emotional exposure and connection between their own adolescence and those looking at the images. I documented their personal actions and moments as they are for I believe the feelings, moments and experiences of people like this group are some of the most important things to remember in life. At Lakewood, good times are had, however it is a place where this group of individuals look to reflect not only on themselves personally but the world.This place is beautiful, unique and a privilege to experience. However,this series seeks to capture those feelings that every single person has. This place has the power to create the feelings and memories of youth, experimenting, exploring and reflecting on the opportunities, challenges and will in life.
