Thu, 11 Dec 2008 | By alessandro_vannucci | Views [749] | Comments [1]

E poteva andare peggio. Se fosse piovuto le ore di ... Read more >

Phnom Penh – A look around the city

Thu, 11 Dec 2008 | By justin | Views [456]

Bit of slow start of the day which is of no surprise since Tim and I only got back to the hostel in the early hours.   Later went out with Barbara-Jean to have a look around the city.   The city is extremely busy, with mopeds everywhere; a far contrast ... Read more >

Temples of Angkor, Day 3

Wed, 10 Dec 2008 | By jsherdc | Views [1554]

My final morning I woke up deliberately at 4AM, since I was supposed to get picked up at 4:30 by my tuk-tuk driver to go see the sunrise. I had no idea what time I needed to be at Angkor Wat. By 4:45 my driver still had not shown up, and I tried ... Read more >

Wed, 10 Dec 2008 | By jsherdc | Views [817]

My second day at Angkor Wat started badly. Again I was woken up at 4 AM by the dogs and had to wait until 7AM for the driver. After stewing for a while, I decided I didn't like the plan that my driver had come up with. From the pictures and descriptions ... Read more >

Angkor Wat was one of my dream destinations and the centerpiece of my trip. Unfortunately, pretty much everything went wrong with my trip there. It started with my getting booked in a guesthouse that had some major flaws. First they spoke almost no ... Read more >

Sen Monorom - Three on a bike....not a good idea

Tue, 9 Dec 2008 | By justin | Views [641]

Managed to persuade some locals to lend us their mopeds for the day in order for us to explore the area.   Another waterfall! (Bou Sraa) – a 35 meter double drop into the jungle below.   On the ride back we hooked up with Shaun (an Irish backpacker ... Read more >

Sen Monorom – Elephant Trekking

Mon, 8 Dec 2008 | By justin | Views [994]

We had arranged for an elephant trek into the jungle today.   So with two of us cramped into a tiny bamboo basket balance on top of the elephant we slowly made our way into the jungle.   I was only too please to break for lunch by the river.   The ... Read more >

Sen Monorom - A day for doing very little (again)

Sun, 7 Dec 2008 | By justin | Views [504]

Had a relaxing day.   Went to check out the market (Same as every other).   Had my hair cut for 75p, which for three quarters of an hours work, is a bargain.   That’s pretty much it for today!

Haggling is an art form.
