    Little rain for a long time really takes affect on places, even large valleys. Tamborine Mountain has seen a fair share of cruel and relentlessly dry weather, and is beginning to show signs of succumbing. : by ashleighb, Views[263]
         		 We continued on our exploration through parts of Tamborine Mountain that we hadn't really paid much attention to before and came across this view.          		 I've lived in Canungra near Tamborine Mountain for years now, and gone to school on the Mountain but I have never really taken the chance to actually explore and just enjoy the place. I took my younger cousin and brother up for a field trip to enjoy the scenes that we had missed.     Amongst the porous rock, red dust and machinery are little jewels all along the Arufura coast line, like this example “Little Bondi” Barinjura. Known for its beautiful sandy beach and ideal surf conditions, locals from all around Gove enjoy year round fishing and dry season surfing here.          		 The Rio Tinto Alcan Bauxite mine at Yirrkala, provides a place of work for many of the local and transient labour force that reside in Gove. The mine boasts an impressive 26 km conveyor belt which moves 3000 tonne’s of bauxite ore per hour, from the mine to the refinery.
