         		 The Welcome Wall's Memorial illuminated by the setting sun and set against the South Mole Lighthouse are located at the Western Australia Maritime Museum in Fremantle.          		 The port city of Fremantle has a proud history. Not only was it the first colony in Australia to be established without convict settlers it was also the early gateway to the vast expanses and riches of Western Australia.          		 The illusive Little Tern; an endangered and now protected species. As these birds are strongly migratory I was lucky to catch some on their travels. Meeting Matthew and Jessica that morning, I learned that the numbers of Terns have been diminishing for years until the Tweed Shire Council made a conscience effort to alert people to the species. This image captures the sum total for this trawler for a hard and long mornings work. Hard working men, driven by the prospect of a hard earned dollar, the work doesn’t stop at the catch.          		 Set in the beautiful Newcastle region of NSW, is the marina and fish markets. Trawlers re-enter the harbour and are docked at the fish market location, ensuring a steady stream of fresh produce.     A fishing community. – Monument to reflect. This community has a long and strong bond with the commercial fishing industry and the Harbour. One of the main tourist attractions is the Harbour walkway, lined with references to the past and present success of the fishing industry in the region. This monument caught my eye, simplistically reinforcing to visitors the strength of the industry locally.          		 First light breaks over Cook Island. Fingal Head is just south of the Queensland border. It has a rich Aboriginal heritage and is a part of the Tweed Shire council.
