         		 (5) The final image looks at the interactive art experience from a first person perspective. Instead of observing others at The Musuem of Contemporary Art in Sydney, I turned the lens on my own personal interaction with one of Anish Kapoor’s reflective works. Making myself part of the art experience. The reflective environment provided by the artist and the composition captured by the photographer.     (4) Anish Kapoor is one of the most recognisable contemporary artists in the world today. The Museum of Contemporary Art is featuring some of his works for the first time in the gallery. This photograph looks not only at Kapoor’s reflective work ‘The Sydney Eye’, it also looks at what an object is, in relation to other things. In this case, Kapoor’s circular work reflecting the sky around Sydney, is juxtaposed against the solid square matt mass of the museum itself. It is fitting because Kapoor’s work looks at ideas of form, voids and content, and how an object can be and not be. I was particularly pleased to catch this moment of two workers shining the great reflective surface, preparing the work for the public gaze, themselves becoming a piece of art in my photograph.          		 (3) This image of a young girl running past the work “Stasis’ by Claire Healy and Sean Cordeiro outside the front of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, looks at the idea of active participation in public art. We can without knowing, be creating art, while observing it. With the plane heading off to the left and the girl running off to the viewers right, I was lucky that her bright pink dress helped to tie the two elements together.          		 (2) In the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, a nearby glass exhibition case creates a horizontal distortion of Nick Savvas’ vertical artwork “Showtime 1999”, when a MCA guest walks by. In a gentle wink to the viewer, I was playing with the idea of making art with art. There is Savvas’ work and then there is my addition to it, which can add to or alter the original meaning. A very contemporary idea. Ideas about how we make and record art, who is the author of the works we create and how globalisation and technology change the way we communicate with each other, are all playing out in everyday life.          		 (1) The Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, looks out over the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House and has recently been renovated. It houses some of the best collection of contemporary artists in the world today. I wanted to photograph how people interact with public art in a post modern world. There is now an almost expected interactive experience at every corner, due to how we now use technology to document our lives. With the advent of social media and the almost shameless self promotion of the individual, new ideas about the role of the artist as the sole contributor to work are being left behind. It is in this vain and in keeping with the idea of interactivity, I chose to use mobile photography as the photographic medium to document this ‘place I have visited’ In this example a young woman with appropriately colour co-ordinated earphones, takes a profile shot of herself in front of Robert Owen’s ‘Sunrise’ exhibit. This exhibit concentrates on light and colour and it’s structure allows for the re-organisation of the pieces for different spaces. The girl looks like she was created especially to be part of this exhibition. An accidental collaboration.          		 The last photograph is a departing picture. One I took just before I left. Her name is Natalie, and she was a bit of a wonderer, a displaced soul, who I'd eventually come to know quite well. We ended up living together and exchanging and making many experiences. She'd come home one day, with these markings on her back after getting Chinese suction therapy, and I immediately photographed the wonderful impressions.     The forth is of a photograph of a busker, who played in one of the main coffee strips. His name is William, and he’s an accordionist. I approached him after he stopped playing, gave him five bucks, and asked if he'd come to my place at the Nicholas, so I could take his picture. We made a little set, and I took the photograph.          		 The third is the owner of these hands. Her name is Joan, “Like the one on the firing stick”, as she said at our very first encounter. She was the elevator operator of the Nicholas Building for thirty-six years, the last of her kind.
         		 The second is a prelude to the third. At this time, when I first met these pair of hands, I was inhabiting The Nicholas Building, right in the guts of the city. Her hands told a story of commitment, routine;
         		 The first photograph in the series is of a person I first met in this new city. Her name is Cheyenne, and she's one of the most productive, inspiring people I’ve met.
