    Sunrise Over Everest. Taken from the summit of Gyoko Ri (17,585ft) about half way through a twenty day expedition around the Solu Khumbu region in Nepal. In a season that saw much tragedy, many say as a result of the mountain's commercialization, at that moment we understood it's draw for so many people, despite the risks.          		 Dance of the Yak Train. For anyone who has traveled in the Himalayas, yaks can be seen around every turn, along every pass and on slopes of impossible steepness. They are the beasts of burden that necessitated the famous trans Himalayan trade route between Tibet and Nepal. Often surly and unruly, they can carry over 100kg on their backs. Approximately 12,200 feet above sea level, the little dirt track at Syangboche services the largest village in the Everest region, Namche Bazaar.          		 Many communities still live with the concept that girls are inferior, trapping them in a cycle of poverty when they deny them their education. Yet, numerous studies have proven that woman education is the most effective way to guarantee the long-term success of developing economies.
