    SENSE OF SMELL. People living in Payatas—even those at a very young age—are exposed to the nasty smell of their surrounding. They have to endure and get used to the stench, for collecting garbage is their primary livelihood.          		 SENSE OF HEARING. A young girl on the street of Payatas—a slum area in urban Quezon City—hears the bell of an incoming dump truck. This is a signal of an arrival of a new bunch of 'treasure' – a pile of garbage which is a probable source of their meals for the day.
