    There is a Haitian proverb: Deye mon gen mon, or,
    There is a Haitian proverb: Deye mon gen mon, or, "Beyond mountains, there are mountains." Maxsony, the subject of this photo, knows this in both the proverbial and literal sense, but has seemingly triumphed over most of his mountains. Injured in the 2010 earthquake, Maxsony is now a community leader and program advocate for spinal cord injury patients within Haiti. He works in a wheelchair repair shop, shown here.
