In the Itaúnas village there is only one school where local kids are educated. They live in a very simple reality and most kids only go to school to get the lunch that is served at noon. These kids are confronted with a very difficult reality. They have to face a future on a place with only few job opportunities and experience political conflicts between the local population and the protected area. Our job in this school was to sensitize the kids. We showed them that the region, they live in, has to be protected and can be explored in a non-destructive way by taking advantage of its beautiful geography and biodiversity, e.g. as a touristic attraction. We always show the kids that there are still interesting things to protect and to admire in the park that they live in. On this picture the kids were participating in a drawing workshop with the subject: nature protection.: by leonardomercon, Views[260]
