“Monument of pain and defiance" is the first monument that was built in the park in 1959. It was built on the site where on 21 October 1941 in Šumarice shooting range only woman - Nada Naumović. Through the purity of marble processing blocks are presented in figures of a man and woman in the death throes. Female character, strongly curved backward, still defying death, and men, painfully bent in a sharp curve ahead slowly falling to the ground.
