    A pair of Scarlet Macaws seen screeching over the waves in the Corcovado National Park. Virtually wiped out from the rest of Central America the Scarlet Macaws, which mate for life, are so common in and around Corcovado they could almost be called a nuisance. They epitomise the beauty of the National Park; a bird so rare in other locations can be so abundant and obvious in Corcovado. No wonder the park was named

Virtually wiped out from the rest of Central America the Scarlet Macaws, which mate for life, are so common in and around Corcovado they could almost be called a nuisance. They epitomise the beauty of the National Park; a bird so rare in other locations can be so abundant and obvious in Corcovado. No wonder the park was named "the most biologically intense place on Earth in terms of biodiversity" by National Geographic. This statement is what drew me to Corcovado, as I travelled south from Mexico to Panama over the last 6 months. My love of nature photography was blossoming in Central America and particularly Costa Rica. What a place to hone my photography skills. The next four photos aim to highlight some of the amazing wildlife and scenery found in the Corcovado National Park.
