    This pictures was taken in Auschwitz-Birkenau. This place was so incredibly vast, that you got a bit dizzy to think that so many people were murdered on the grounds. The tracks are so incredibly symbolic. The tracks gave the Nazi's access to murder so many innocent people. It led them to a road to nowhere. Photography-wise, I like this photo because o fthe depth of field. The focus is mostly on the tracks and you don't really know where thew tracks go. The shadows in the tracks are dark which represents the unknown. I love that the sky is gray for it really sets the mood for the photo and makes it very grim. by: nickp Views[992] This was taken in Dachau concentration camp in Germany. Dachau has one of the only gas chambers left completely standing. The gas chambers in Auschwitz was blown up in an attempt to hide the atrocities the Nazis were performing. This is one of the twenty burners that were used to burn the bodies of the murdered after they were gassed. The atmosphere here was incredibly absent. I felt no emotion in these places in the sense that I did not know how to feel. I felt sad, but to a point where I felt so unimportant. by: nickp Views[3990] This is at the Holocaust memorial in Berlin. it contains numerous square stones that are meant to represent the headstones of those killed during the holocaust. if you enter the memorial you quickly become disoriented and confused. It seems to trap you inside and randomly spit you out. by: nickp Views[742]

    We came across this farmer and his wife on our way back to the village on our final day. They both hike several hours every day to sell drinks to the ten or so travellers who cross this path. While she was selling the drinks, we watched him gather wood, use his knife to take the bark off and make it smooth, then begin to place it together to fix his gate which had been broken. He worked so effortlessly and quietly, we all sat in silence watching him.: by jodyslens, Views[362]
