A Backdrop for All Eras- 
From the day of Lord Buddah ‘s second Visit to Sri Lanka , The “Kelaniya  Temple”, has been a cymbal of “Buddhism in Sri Lanka”.  That may also be the reason for numerous destructions, which it has to withstand throughout the ages. This resilient power of being reborn has made the temple a sanctuary for paintings and sculpture from varies eras.
