Me and a lovely lovely elephant at the elephant park just outside of Luang Prabang. I booked a day tour at the elephant park where you ride the elephants and hang out with them.

I felt quite sorry for the elephants really. Having to carry around stupid tourists all day, it must be pretty tiring. But we were told that only a certain amount of people come to the park each day, so the elephants wouldn't be stressed out and most of the elephants there had been rescued from working as tree loggers, hence giving the odd ride was a much better life for them. I guess it's no worse that riding a horse.
(All our tour money went to help look after their park!)
