Genslerstrasse, Berlin. Tucked away in a leafy Berlin suburb lies an unassuming compound surrounded by guard towers and barbed wire. Formerly an infamous Stasi prison, it is now home to the Berlin- Hohenschönhausen Memorial. 
Stepping through the heavy metal door into one of the cellblocks, the air is cold and damp, and the bright afternoon sunshine outside seems to have been consumed by a much darker world.
