![Heavy rains poured down on the celebration but everyone was able to crowd under the tarps until it passed, avoiding the holes above that would splash down on us intermittently. A tradition of theirs is to throw the bride’s underwear on the roof of her husband’s house to ward off rain on their wedding day – it almost worked. Many of the dirt roads remained flooded after we left.
