The bus dropped us all off at a place called Lakes entrance, and was due to leave to following day for Canberra. The evening of our arrival, I went into a cafe for a hot chocolate and got talking to the girl that worked there. She told me about a good surf spot called red bluff. It was about 12kms away, but I decided to jump off the bus, hike to red bluff and camp out for a while. The hike there consisted mainly of dirt roads and singletracks. Strangely though, I found this site in the middle of nowhere which, according to the sign is the first ever place that Australian settlers found oil. In my mind it's quite a significant place, so it felt like quite a good find.: by paul_byrom, Views[454]
