    The yurt can be very simple and small. There is no electricity arriving so deep in the mountains. Some of the shepherds can afford a solar panel to get some light at night and listen to the news or music on the radio. Women are responsible for the yurt, turning it into a living place during the day and a sleeping room at night. They cook and help with the animals catering. by: elisecolette Views[644] While it is a hard and sometimes lonely life, there is time for enjoying a good meal within the comforts of a yurt. The wife sits close to the kettle and pours a cup of tschai. Usually this is mixed with kumus (fermented horse milk) and sometimes some butter and salt. The self-baked bread, made in self built stone ovens, tastes best with some homemade marmalade or butter.
