England is now better known for vibrant cities with great nightlife and attractions, contrasted with green and pleasant countryside. It's said that Ireland, once visited, is never forgotten; the landscape has a mythic resonance, the country's history is almost tangible, and its people seem put on earth expressly to restore faith in humanity. Wales is just what you picture it to be: rolling moorlands, tongue-twisting place names, Rugby Union... But also fantastic walking, cycling, fishing, water and adventure sports as well as some fine festivals. Scotland's' people are feisty, opinionated and fiercely loyal. The countryside is a wild, beautiful tumble of raw mountain peaks and deep glassy lakes.

It's certainly been a long time since I updated this journal. Perhaps that's because this is a travel journal and I haven't been doing very much travel at all recently. The past few months have been mind numbingly tedious in their monotony. Moving ... Read more >
