         		 Typical storage container for pisco called a botija. The origin of the name pisco came from the word Quechua. Translated to English it means bird and the body of this bird looks very similar to the botija. : by danidawnandstevo, Views[218]

    On the way to Arequipa our bus made a stop along the Pan American Highway to view the Nazca Lines. There was a tower you could climb that offered views of
     
         		 For obvious reasons you're not allowed to set foot beyond the barb wire fence but here is a close up of the lines. They are only about 6 inches deep and I would say about a foot wide and in remarkable condition considering they were created 2,500 years ago.     We spent the night in a fishing town called Paracas. Being the beach snobs that we are we didn't go into the water. It was very cold and full of seaweed. : by danidawnandstevo, Views[258]

         		 What was more interesting about hacienda San Jose was the slave tunnels underneath the house. They were used as either punish rooms where the slaves were sent if they tried to escape or used as an escape for the slave owner in the event the slaves attempted to revolt. : by danidawnandstevo, Views[264]
     
    We stopped in to visit hacienda San Jose. With the use of slaves this area produced sugar and cotton. : by danidawnandstevo, Views[196]
         		 Two of our most terrifying experiences have came at the hands of Peru. First was the suicide mission taxi ride from the airport to hostel. Second was the dune buggy ride.          		 Off on our ten day tour on the hop on hop off bus. We hopped off and grabbed some lunch at a road side diner that made sandwiches or
         		 City of Lima, Peru lookout point. What we found more interesting than the great view of the city was the homes and people that enjoyed it.     In Italy we learned cappuccino in the morning espresso in the evening. In Peru we learned ceviche in the afternoon never in the evening. Ceviche consists of raw fish, onions, spices and lemon juice. It's caught in the evening, sold at market in the morning and prepared fresh for lunch.
