Since the devaluation of the Swedish crown, Sweden has become much more affordable, and the simple joys of fresh air, landscape and culture are free. Its forests are starkly beautiful, its lakes giant. Stockholm, the country's capital, is a progressive city with pockets that maintain a village feel. Gothenburg and Malmö beckon with urban delights, and away from the cities, Sweden takes in vast areas of scenic coastline and idyllic islands. The wilderness areas of Norrland have the legendary midnight sun in summer, Arctic Scandinavia's highest mountain and marvellous hiking trails.

Weeks ago I asked the Northern Lights on a date, and she accepted. However, she (the aurora) and the weather have both been, respectively, flaky and annoying. Three nights already I've been in the north of Scandinavia, and for three nights, no date with ... Read more >

This is an attempt to show the old style drama performance in rural India which are on the brink of extinction thanks to the satellite TV’s.
On the night there was a procession of Lord Krishna and a drama performed in my native village. The drama is called “Draupadi Vastraharan” an important part from the great epic Mahabharata. All the performers were from the village itself with very little or no acting experience, they worked in the farms during the day and practised during the night for more than a month.
The various colours used by the make-up artist. None of them are tested face paints but just few chemicals mixed to get desired colours and the glue used to fix flat tyres used to paste the moustache and beard.
