         		 Kurt tried the alpaca steak; alpaca is a kind of lama. I love the fresh exotic fruit juice, almost everyday! Every time to walk back to our hospedaje, we had to go up the steep streets and we were always out of breath; very hard! Ow we went to nice restaurants. : by finally, Views[449]

    Third stop on same excursion of yarn and salt mines. Moray ruins. Amazing circular terraces used for agriculture. Likes like it was created almost by aliens! Still functional. Inca grew a different vegetable on every level - each level differed by a few degrees thus optimal for different vegetables. Crazy, the Inca domesticated thousands of types of potato, corn and quinoa. They were masters of agricultural and irrigation. : by finally, Views[588]

    Gorgeous! Blue corn gives this beautiful color. Plus, Peruvians love the blue corn for drinking. No joke! Looks like grape juice ... but tastes like corn juice. No, seriously it's better than it sounds. Haven't convinced AF yet though. : by finally, Views[372]

         		 Next after the temple of gold. Just outside Cuzco. Saqsaywaman. Sounds like sexy woman. Guess what, that's what it means too in Quechua!! No, just joking. Beautiful Inca stone walls. This style is megalithic polygonal. They sanded the stones so they would fit together perfectly like a jigsaw puzzle! Amazing feat of architecture. Seriously, you can't fit a blade of grass between them they're so flush. No mortar. They've stood over 500 years despite frequent earthquakes. Stones were carried from 20km away. Other similar examples of megalithic stones are Stonehenge. : by finally, Views[524]
         		 Love the sign! So true, Inca walls are everywhere in Cusco. In Cusco here, first excursion to tour Inca ruins. This is the temple of gold. But guess what, no more gold. Plus it's a church now. Hmm. Those Spanish! They tore down most of the Inca buildings. But left Inca walls as the base of many buildings, as here. Plus those Inca stones were so damn good they reused them to build the churches. Basically every time you see a church in Cusco, you know it replaces a very important Inca religious/government building.: by finally, Views[387]
     
    Back to Pisac market for lunch. A 4 hour hike up a mountain makes you hungry. : by finally, Views[312]

         		 Right next to the market, Pisac ruins. Well not so right next. About a 2 hour hike up a mountain! But worth it. Reminiscent of Machi Picchu. Why do they always build these Inca cities on the top of a mountain?! Those Inca architects were quite demanding. Sure wasn't the architect hauling stones 2 hours up that mountain. : by finally, Views[330]
