         		 You really get a close-up look at 'farm-to-table' food in Peru! We'll spare you the photos of the butchering though - that's done in quite openly in all markets. They find a use for all the bits and pieces here, nothing goes to waste.          		 Laguna Wilcacocha. Again. As seen in the previous Google photo, if you're lucky you can see the entire Cordillera Blanca! Second largest mountain range in the world after the Himalayas. Dozens of peaks at 6000m (18,000ft) and higher. Yep, even near the equator at that altitude they get snow! : by finally, Views[392]

         		 Today, May 7th, we are in Huaraz (3052m-10013ft), still in the Cordillera Blanca. Today we're doing nothing. Seriously, we're out of the breath walking up the stairs. We really need to adapt to the altitude. We have headaches from the altitude, we're out of breath walking down the street, and our backs hurt from the mattress. Are we complaining? Yes!          		 Very typical, Peruvians know how to maximize space in buses and taxis! I think the record so far is 5-6 people in one row. Here they squish 2 people somehow into the front passenger seat. Btw, the Andean Quechua people of the Cordillera Blanca wear big hats and colorful clothes. : by finally, Views[396]

         		 Too bad the clouds were hiding the peaks of the mountains because we were supposed to see the Paramount mountain, the one you see when you watch a Paramount movie. : by finally, Views[397]

         		 We hiked around the Laguna Paron (4155 m - 13632 ft). We took transportation from Caraz at 2000 m to la Laguna Paron at 4000 m. We weren't acclimatized, we shouldn't have done it. We had and still have headaches and feel so tired. :-(: by finally, Views[378]

    We stayed in Caraz, a small town in the Cordillera Blanca. Elevation 2256 m - 7402 ft. It's the beginning of the altitude sickness, we didn't plan enough time to acclimatize. :-( that's why we are drinking coca leaves tea everyday and several times per day but it didn't seem to go away. : by finally, Views[367]
