    The wooden bridge in Sangkhlaburi, Thailand, is not merely a means to cross the lake by, but the centre of the community, joining 2 sides together; the Mons, and the Thais and Karens. All through the day, but particularly at sunrise and sunset, the bridge comes alive with activity; people go to and from work, vendors sell their wares, children play, monks walk to the temples, foreigners take photos. The commerce, religion, rivalry, games, tourism and natural beauty of the entire area all come together on this one wooden structure. The bridge continues to give to the community, providing an area for people to trade, socialise and play, whatever their age. I have spent many happy hours there, sitting, watching, taking photos and soaking up the culture and diversity. When the rainy season comes to an end, the level of water in the lake is high enough for the local children (and some foreigners if they are brave enough!) to jump off the bridge and into the water below. This group of boys were leaping off, climbing back up, discussing tactics for their next jump and showing off for my camera for at least an hour. They loved seeing the photos afterwards as well!          		 I don’t think I will ever get tired of marvelling how people can balance so much and such a variety of objects on their heads.          		 Monks frequently cross this bridge to get to the various temples; I love how their orange robes always stand out and make such a main feature of the photo.          		 We finish off our tour of Thailand with a trip to the party capital, Koh Phagnan. Each month this island comes alive, with thousands flocking in their droves to attend an epic party night. This picture nevertheless, depicts the simple and idyllic life for those who want to relax and enjoy some time out. This picture for me shows romance, its shows playfulness and it shows simplicity.          		 Moving away from the city, Thailand is also famed for its islands and its ideal location for avid divers. Koh Toa is one of the smaller island, but it has a big personality and reputation for the diving community. This picture was taken around 7 am and you can seen that all is peaceful with the world, with little activity around. This is more like a holiday brochure scene and for me its a striking contrast to city life. It allows for a time of reflection of daydreaming.          		 Chiang Mai is considered to be Thailand's second capital. It certainly does not disappoint in terms of beauty and culture. We have already seen that nature is being preserved as best as it can be, but what about the Buddhist culture. Well it is in its abundance as you walk around the city. The temples are intermingled amongst the modern day shops and cafes. The fantastic thing is that modern life does little to detract away from the ostentatiousness of the temples. This is particularly the case when you have a background of a pure blue sky, which serve only to complement the colours, the details and the authenticity of hard work and labour for a religion and a way of life.: by elayne, Views[157]
         		 We head north of Thailand to Chiang Mai where we become engrossed in the determination and tenacity of one woman by the name of Lek. She has worked tirelessly to help old and maimed elephants have a place where there can be safe from the tourist trade and poachers alike. The Elephant Nature Park is helped run by volunteers from all walks of life, who wish makes dreams become a reality. Stroking,feeding or simply observing these beautiful beasts can be done at any time and from any distance. It becomes second nature, as much as having a household pet. This picture shows one of the older females who has been sustained back and hip injuries through the activity known as forced pregnancy. When elephants are no longer needed for tree logging (which has since ceased in Thailand), other uses are found for them. Breeding is one such option.
