         		 Another unexpected twist was witnessing a gathering at a local temple for the Sunday prayers. What was unexpected was to see traditional musicians and dancers at a temple rarely seen by tourists. As we watched from a overhead walkway, we felt like eavesdroppers in a spiritual communication.          		 The lotus, so much a part of their culture is seen throughout; in their art, architecture and in pots strewn across the city. What truly amazed me was how they incorporate their natural surroundings into their daily lives.     The cultural aspect of the city has also been incorporated into their daily schedule. For a country that thrives on tourism you expect to see the infamous lady boys performing a lively show. They are two of the lucky ones who were allowed to go to Northern Thailand to get a better education.
