         		 'Angel's Well', shot in Cornwall, The United Kingdom. This shot was the result of standing in icy water for over 90 minutes. I discovered this waterfall quite by chance. Hidden at the end of a long woodland walk in an overlooked valley, this waterfall is nothing short of beautiful. With only a prime lens attached to my camera, to achieve this shot I had to bear the bitterly cold spray and set up camp in the icy water. It took over an hour and a half to wait for the right cloud coverage to soften the light and paint this scene.          		 'Crescent', shot in Cornwall, The United Kingdom. This shot has a very special place in my heart. I had heard about Porth Navern in Cornwall but had never visited it before. On the day of buying my new Nikon D700 camera I headed down to this hidden bay with great hope. Not really knowing how to use this specific camera I set the D700 to it's most basic mode and attached me cable release. After a little wondering around I found this viewpoint. I wanted to document a magical moment like no other but convey a sense of perspective of life. After one of the most epic sunsets I had ever seen I was very happy. I love how the smallest element in this shot is the most influential. Without the moon the tides would not change, coastal erosion would be significantly different and the egg shaped boulders here would not exist.          		 This photograph shows another angle on the Cuillin hills this time from the south at Elgol on the Isle of Skye. Many of these west coast villages are similar and the main industries are fishing and tourism. This trawler is causing controversy amongst local fishermen and marine biologists due to the method of fishing involved.     This photograph of a winter mountaineer on the ridge of Liathach (an impressive mountain just north of Applecross) represents some of what the tourist industry is about in the small communities on the west coast. The human impact is negligible and red deer, a golden eagle and countless other species were sighted very close by on the ascent.: by eol, Views[516]
         		 This evocative image of a stag silhouetted against a sunset represents so much about Applecross. Taken again on a hillside just above the main village, the majestic animal appears to be standing, taking in the beautiful sunset colours the west coast of Scotland is famous for.: by eol, Views[375]
         		 This is a photograph of the Cuillin hills on the Isle of Skye from a hillside above the mains of Applecross. These hills are also a defining view from the place and many hours are taken up by locals and visitors alike, imagining and contemplating while the scene before them constantly changes and is never the same twice.: by eol, Views[357]
         		 My first image is of Applecross Bay from the Bealach na Ba (the highest mountain pass in Britain). In my opinion this rarely photographed scene, is the defining view of where I now live.          		 Brighton dreaming: Most people would either be arrested or hospitalised for willingly lying stomach-down on the promenade of stony Brighton beach in freezing wind wind conditions. I had popped out of my hostel quickly in less than weather-appropriate clothing to buy a snack when I saw the sunset approaching. I ran down to the promenade were I came across this puddle, and risking hypothermia, this is where i stayed until the sunset left- clicking away at my camera whilst curious locals and tourists cast me strange looks. Why was she photographing a puddle? Australia was in drought, but had she really been this deprived of rainwater? The result was beautiful, but it took me several cups of tea and a night in bed to bring warmth back to my body.     Curious: Native gulls in North Wales proved the only british wildlife to cooperate with my camera lens. I sat for half an hour with these gulls, bribing them with all varieties of things to lure them closer to my lens. This curious fellow did just that. His place of residence is the strictly welsh speaking town of Caernarfon in North Wales. Across the bay lay the isle on Anglesey. After a while I was persuaded by my travel partner that day to farewell my feathered friends as fellow tourists wondered who the young Australian girl conversing with seagulls was, and why she was paying less attention to the huge stone castle which lay behind her. I got many good photographs of these birds, and I just loved capturing their curiosity and working hard to gain their trust all in pursuit of the perfect shot. : by breewilkinson, Views[445]
         		 Ghosts of the past: On a cold night in London, a young American and I decided to embark on a spontaneous roadtrip through Wales. Our aim was this- castles and countrysides. We almost drove past Kidwelly castle before we embarked in a drastic U turn and turned off into the tiny town. What we were greeted with exceeded any of our expectations. A colossal structure, the very image of medieval power and might- Kidwelly castle rose from the centre of the town. We paid the little old lady our 3 pounds, and entered across the drawbridge- the only travellers around for miles. With no source of lights, we felt our way through it's underground dungeons, and with a careless recklessness- climbed the rotting stone spiral staircases to the top of the throne room tower. Here we sat, astonished at our height and view, and watched pigeons flee from a church tower as rain approached. It is an eerie photo of an eerie moment. The feeling we experienced as we sat on the crumbling ruins was as if we had been born a thousand years older and that the castle was a possession of our very own.          		 The fortress: From the windy tops of a Pirate fortress standing lone in the bay of Penzance, I sat in an alcove in the sun after completing my climb and took a photo across the bay. St. Michaels mount is a glorious establishment like no other. Jutting out monumentally from the sea, you feel the sense of inferiority when you stand beneath it, and the sense of power when you stand atop. You imagine you are Cornish royalty on the battletops lined by rows of cannons, imagining what it would have looked like to see notorious Pirate vessels sail into the bay. each window looks out into wide and endless sea, and inside lies a fortress which evokes true mystery and wonderment. This photo represents my experience of hiding away on this ancient structure, looking out toward the sea. It is a precious memory and i am so happy i captured it.: by breewilkinson, Views[565]
         		 Merry Men: Returning to the town of my ancestors, St. Agnes, on a gorgeous Cornish afternoon, I came across these jolly Morris men dancing in the middle of the street. I started snapping away with my camera- and then asked the leader if i could have a photo of him. He gave me one look and pulled out a large whistle. Immediately after blowing it, he called his troops to attention.
