    'Angel's Well', shot in Cornwall, The United Kingdom. This shot was the result of standing in icy water for over 90 minutes. I discovered this waterfall quite by chance. Hidden at the end of a long woodland walk in an overlooked valley, this waterfall is nothing short of beautiful. With only a prime lens attached to my camera, to achieve this shot I had to bear the bitterly cold spray and set up camp in the icy water. It took over an hour and a half to wait for the right cloud coverage to soften the light and paint this scene.          		 'Crescent', shot in Cornwall, The United Kingdom. This shot has a very special place in my heart. I had heard about Porth Navern in Cornwall but had never visited it before. On the day of buying my new Nikon D700 camera I headed down to this hidden bay with great hope. Not really knowing how to use this specific camera I set the D700 to it's most basic mode and attached me cable release. After a little wondering around I found this viewpoint. I wanted to document a magical moment like no other but convey a sense of perspective of life. After one of the most epic sunsets I had ever seen I was very happy. I love how the smallest element in this shot is the most influential. Without the moon the tides would not change, coastal erosion would be significantly different and the egg shaped boulders here would not exist.          		 This shieling lost its walls but this desk, with perfectly tidied cultery, remains. The headline of the paper lining says 'the memory' - the paper was unbelievably old. A sign of life and lack of life in one: The contradictions of this amazing, stark, island.: by gladleynet, Views[209]
         		 Miles into the moors you find these empty shielings: Lost capsules of life. My friend sits on a garden chair, sitting outside an empty shieling made from an old bus. I have no idea how this bus got out here without wheels, miles into the edge of nowhere.: by gladleynet, Views[253]
         		 The vast moors are dotted with shielings, little huts shepherds use in summer. You walk for miles, away from villages, out of phone signal, away from human life, to find these empty huts with only subtle signs of life.     There are not many trees here, as the weather is so windy and harsh. The whole island is full of the juxtaposition of barrenness and life. Here a house stands surrounded by windswept trees and not much else. A natural, yet lived in environment.          		 Harris and Lewis, in Scotland, are fascinating places full of contrast. To me, this picture captures the essence of this part of the world - an almost untouched natural beauty, but with the surprising element of modern conveniences.     The concentration on the face of the woman as she strikes a pose for the audience didn’t echo the attitude of the house music being played in the club. Talking her to her before she when on stage, she told me of her structured daily workout regime and dance practices. Being able to work alongside her friends and receive applaud from the crowd made it all worth it, she said. : by lizziemay, Views[203]
         		 The tricks involving eating fire, twirling flaming batons and swinging from suspended hoops last only seconds; the opportunity to capture the act is even shorter. Over several nights, coming back to the same club to photograph the girls performing, I finally got a clear shot of the girls in action.          		 The girls all stand in a line, waiting to be called on stage to perform. They chat, smile and dance along to the music until it is time to step onto the oil-slicked floor. It is only herself in front of a club of intoxicated partygoers. : by lizziemay, Views[274]
         		 The audience sat on the edge of their seats, as the cabaret performer fluttered her feathers and blood began to pour from her lips. A very bizarre show. I had to edge closer and closer to the front of the stage to get a detailed shot of her stage makeup.          		 The oil splattering across the stage from the performers mouth nearly destroyed my camera lens, but it was hard not to be transfixed by the growing flames she produced.     Having recently watched Selma Hyak and Julie Taymor's movie
    Having recently watched Selma Hyak and Julie Taymor's movie "Frieda" with Spanish subtitles in Xela (great movie!) I decided we should try Frieda's Restaurant just north of the square on the street to La Merced. Food was OK and the ambiance all Frieda. See video montage of Frieda next.
