    After our working time we can do whatever we want. Sometimes we play basketball or ping-pong, sometimes we watch movie, play guitar, occasionally we make fire. Just like the picture, having a fire is my favourite entertainment, everyone could share their story, and because all the Wwoofers came from different country so we always have stories to tell. Through the communication between us and Toni, we could know what's a real local Aussie life which is very important to a traveler, and she could also know many different culture in this world. I think I was really lucky to spend 5 months with them as a Wwoofer. Knowing what's a real local life is always my intent while traveling the world. by: australianlife Views[499] These are all Wwoofers who used to live in their farm. To exchange our food and housing we need to help them making cheese as well. Sometimes it's a very hard work cause we all need to get up at midnight to make cheese or spend 12 hours in cheese room to get everything done. We work very hard to help them and they also treat us very generous. by: australianlife Views[413] This is Josh, the shepherd in this goats farm. He is the first shepherd I've ever met in my life time. I was born and raised in city so I never had a chance to live with a real shepherd. And I am always keen to meet one of these intelligent canidae. His excellent skills of handling the goats are always surprised me. For me he is very unique. by: australianlife Views[406] In order to make the best cheese, they treat their goats very well. They take the goats out to picnic everyday, they eat grains, fruits, minerals, seaweed(very expensive), vitamin, they drink fresh rain water(like human) with Italian herbs and rose hips. That's why the goats rarely sick. And the two persons behind are actually not their worker, they/re Wwoofers(willing worker on organic farm), we work for them to exchange our own food and accommodation. by: australianlife Views[376] A very hard-working farmer's name is Toni. The owner of a goat's dairy farm in Australia. They make and sell goat's cheese for living. In the farmer's market, she was selling cheese confidently. And just like her confident smile, their cheese did won several awards was given annually by Royal Show which is the largest agriculture community event in WA. by: australianlife Views[536]
     
    After Kangra, I further traveled down towards Nangal and made made another stop at Jwala Ji temple, another of the holy places in Indian culture. Famous for it's unexplained flames burning through centuries, this holy place has seen even the great Mughal emperor, Akbar, walk barefoot for almost 550 km to come and pay his homage. I took this shot at the havan-kund, which is in the premises of the main temple. While waiting for the smoke in the havan to intensify, i noticed this child come and very religiously do the usual practice of offering prasad at the havan-kund. This is one of the many pictures i took of him and never in all those clicks he looked at me, nor did the sound of the camera distract him. My journey ended here as I moved towards Nangal for the wedding with some great memories and even better shots :) by: karankpl Views[1286] On the 3rd day, I stared my journey downwards from Dharamshala. I halted at Kangra, land of the Kangra Devi temple. The temperature was soaring at 35 degrees when I reached here at 11 in the morning. While taking a few shots of the temple, I sat behind a pillar of a sub-temple within the same premises. The thing I liked about the shot is it's 3 different elements, the sacred tree where people offer their prayers by tying chunris, the main temple's backside and the sub-temple's pillar. The shot looked beautiful because of the beautiful architecture combined with shaded sunlight courtesy the dense tree. by: karankpl Views[663]
     
    It was in 1959 when HH Dalai Lama initiated his quest to free Tibet from the clutches of Chinese government. This led to the migration of many Buddhists to India. The Indian government provided them with Dharamshala as a place to settle and flourish. On coming back from Gyoto monastery, I decided to take a late walk to Dharamkot, another small section of the Dharamshala province. This shot was taken en-route to Dharamkot which is about 14 km from Dharamshala. The route from McLeod upwards gets a bit scary as there are very less homes and shops with all the tall tress blanketing the road with very little light creeping in. The sentiments of the message on the shutter of the shop says it all, the Tibetans although have settled and made a living here, haven't forgotten the cause that they had left for. by: karankpl Views[724] My next destination were something one can't miss when in Dharamshala, the Tibetan monasteries. This was my 2nd day of the journey. The Buddhist religion is known for their simple living and peaceful nature which in turn has made many people around the world follow it. The monasteries are an art in itself, the vibrancy and the peace one can experience here is divine. I took this shot at the Gyoto monastery, one of the lesser visited monastery situated about 10 km from the main town of Dharamshala. I reached here about 1 hour prior to the afternoon prayers and got real good time to shoot the beauty of the monastery. Just before the main prayer, one of the monks came in to offer his prayers. The timing got precise for me and this one turned out to be one of the best shot of my trip. by: karankpl Views[817] I reached Dharamshala on the morning of 23rd May. Known for its crafty works and travel enthusiasts, I got a perfect welcome from the town with colors, designs, bikers and trekkers all around. While going to my hotel on day 1, I came across this scene where a classic Royal Enfield was parked in front of a wall with the famous traditional drapes with prints of Hindu Gods put up for sale. One can see a lot of bullets around which has been a favorite for a lot of bikers here in India. On the property was this small pond, bridge, and building display that was irresistible. He didn't grow up here, but in a village near by, Al Kamil. My father has family in Tawiyah so we spend time there when I visit Oman.
